Choosing a Portable Spa

Portable spas are basically tubs with jet sprays and whirlpools meant for total body comfort. They use the water to massage pressure points to enhance muscle movement and blood circulation. What’s great about them is that you don’t have to travel to an exotic spa or book an appointment. Portable spas are meant for your home. They mostly work with electricity and are pretty simple to use. Think of it as your very own home spa. Now, if you’re interested in owning your very own portable spa, consider a few things before purchasing it.

Size

The size of the portable spa is extremely important. Who is it for? Will the family be using it? If it is just for one person in particular, a small size is adequate. But if it is for family and friends to enjoy, choose one that can seat at least five people comfortably. Buy one that meets all your requirements. Just remember, a portable spa is for relaxation, you don’t want to buy one that is a tight squeeze. Once you have the portable spa, remember everyone, including your distant cousins and children, will want to use it. So, be careful while choosing the size.

The Right Fit

Do you have enough space to accommodate the portable spa? If you are installing one indoors, make sure it can fit through the doors and doesn’t have to be dismantled and reassembled; it will cost extra. If it is an outdoor spa, do you have space in the backyard and do you need prior permission from your local council? Make sure the outdoor spa is durable and adaptable to your environs. Measure your space available prior to scouting for the portable spa. This will give you focus and eliminate the ones that just don’t fit.

Sit and Relax?

As you know, portable spas come fitted with seats. Make sure you are comfortable in them. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for a portable spa with larger seats. Also, make sure that the water level reaches your chest or higher, but remember, you don’t to drown in it. If you can’t seem to find a portable spa with comfortable seating, don’t worry, there are many spas that are not pre-fitted with seats. You should be able to move around the portable spa.

The Jetpacks

One of the most important aspects of portable spas is jet packs. Consider the placement and number of jet sprays that come fitted with the spa. Make sure you have jet sprays for your lower back, shoulders and other areas where you need relief in particular. You also have Jetpacks where you can control the force of the spray and the direction of the output. Opt for one that is adjustable so you can control the pressure and have them concentrated on particular parts of the body. There are Jetpacks that deliver deep tissue massages and some that are concentrated on particular body parts and also aromatherapy ones.

Other Nitti Gritties

Remember, most portable spas work on electricity. Make sure you have an electrical outlet close to the location of the swim spa. The added number of Jetpacks increases electricity consumption. Find one that won’t make too much noise, especially if it is outdoors. You don’t want to disturb the neighbours. Make sure the portable spa has a good filtration system and is easy to clean. The filters should be easy to access for regular cleaning. There are also spas with safety bars and anti skid steps, which are essential for the safety of you and your family.
