how to get a career in architectural drafting or something like it??

so im an ok student i’ve only failed 1 class ever so far in high school. and i’ve never taken any honors classes or ap classes. and im ok at math and i do good in everything else. and this year (my junior year in high school) im taking an AP class and 2 maths. and i bet my GPA is probally a high c or a low b. and i heard that Geogia Tech was a good architectual/drafting and whatnot school to get into. but what if i dont get accepted?? what other colleges could i go too? And i know that sounds kind of lazy and honestly its not i just havent got around to scouting colleges yet, AND one of my buddies said that every college is looking for people who take like 5 AP classes a year! and im not saying im dumb but thats just a little too much for me. I mean im just afraid i’ll do “ok” in high school and get into a crappy college like ITT Tech or sumthing and then ill be like broke and homeless and wont ever make any money!! So anyone got any guide lines as far as what i should do?

Try a community college route. I did my first two years at tidewater community college in virginia. Took chemistry twice, programming twice. Finaly figured things out, got 2 year degree (associates) and transfered Virginia tech MS Mechanical engieering. graduated class of 2000. I ve been working at a power plant for 8 years. makeing mad $. My High School GPA was 2.9.

High school is tough, no dought about it. alot of pressure to make career choices. Doesn’t matter what you want to do for a career but you will most likely to need a plan
